This is a problem I've had since buying Sir D but have never looked into it to a great extent., save forl ooking at the notoriously overpriced clocks go to and fro on the bay of e. As I'm slowly but surely reverting him back to good looking ness, it's becoming a more apparent to-do job.

The time clock has always been running at half speed and has been for 10 months (since purchase). Whether or not its a loom-related problem, I don't know..but someone has fiddled behind the dash before I bought Sir D - his dash has always been slightly loose. Is there any quick or well known way of solving this? The later style clock I have (with the large black adjusting button in the centre) isnt for sale at any well known site.

As for the speedo, I don't know if a warn out speedo cable could cause a loss in reading, or whether its a dynamo job (the latter I'm dredding the price of, or I'll just ofrget it until I plan on getting the engine and engine bay re-painted). Does anyone have an idea as to what the problem is?

Thanks :proud:

Dont know about the time clock, maybe the mechanism is gummed up or the voltage that supplies it is low for what ever reason.

On to the speedo, has the gearbox or final drive been changed at any time?

or potentially degrdation of the speedo cable, or even justthe cable being loose on the clocks.
