cheers andy. hows the mini coming along? your daughters bday soon isnt it, ready in time? will have to pop along to next FABMOC meet at end of month, i aint been in awhile.

Birthday was yesterday so she is out terrorising other motorists now (or maybe just frightening me in the passenger seat!!).

The Mini seems to be going OK, but only put it on the road yesterday anyway so it hasn't had much use yet.

I know this is the wrong place, but what date is the meet this month?

Which tyres do you have? Did the tyre fitter know which side it was for? Some tyres are designed to rotate in one direction only so they have to be fitted the right way round. Rotating the wrong way they have more rolling resistance (reducing rolling resistance is one reason for biased tyre design) so it will pull the car towards it. If it is biased it will normally have an arrow on the sidewall showing which way it turns. (I'm not disagreeing with Siggy here, he is talking about biased construction as in a poorly built tyre I believe whereas I am talking about biased tyre design.) Tyres don't have to be asymmetrical to be biased, Yoko A032r's are biased and they are symetrical.

Dan, as well as that in the very old days (70s) tyres used to have a mark which you fitted to the out side and next to the valve.

Even good quality tyres can have bias problems.

A lot of tyres still have that mark today.. a red or yellow dot.

The car seems to sit lower at front offside (always has since i've had it)

i'm not sure if anyone has missed this remark, or just gone to the tire's as a problem but if the car is sitting lower on one side then the car will track in that direction, as the car is lower on the offside (right) and as you say (The car pulls to the right) i think we need to look at what is causing the car to sag on this side, the one thing that does spring to mind is the plastic cup at the bottom of the susspension cone.

they may need changing as they are prone to wearing down, these only cost a few qid but you do need a special tool to change them. have a look as there have been a few posts about this subject, though you may have to go back about 5 or 6 pages

If your suspension is low at one side its probably not the cones but the knuckle joints which is the plastic cup and rubber boot that sits below the trumpet and cone assembly.

hi jordie, i'm not in any way doubting your ability with the brakes on your car, but could it be that the front brakes are slightly binding on the front o/s? Drums can be a pain to adjust right, and I'm wondering if maybe they are binding slightly it could cause the pull. Only a thought though.

oh buggar, dint even think. Adjusted the brakes awhile ago, then was going to do them again because they cud do with a bleed too, but due to weather etc, we never got around to it. will take a day off during week if poss and take a look around the front end.
