For my mini, i was thinking about the Fortech arches , with some sort of smooth sodeskirt - the reason being because i would like some form of 18" rims on a mini. But for the front i want a tottally new - never been seen before kit. How can i make it myself?

I like smooth ones, so if i was to make one out of my own fibreglass will it be smooth enough?

Thanks

erm.... to make ur own bdykit u would have to make it out of foam to start with, then make a template from your lifesize model and then use ur template to make the final product.

high density i would imagine, when its perfect you lay fibreglass matt and resin over it, wiat for it to set and you have your mould. Then you need to put fibreglass and resin in your mould a few layers and it shouldcome out as what you want.

You seem rather new to all this..

You'd be much better looking up about 'making your own bodykit' online, or talking with a good bodywork specialists company to see about working with you on doing some custom work.

Get your ideas down on paper first of all, and as above, do some research into it.. Remember that if your going to be custom modifing a vehicle, you will run into loads of little legal requirments/restrictions...

18" rims? Some serious arch work needed there!

i've done many drawings, but none too accurate. jus artistic sketches. Does anyone know of any bodykit company that will make one from a drawing? and not too much money

i think your asking to much there. one off body kit on the cheap. it will be very expensive.

no harm in trying. all the bodykits you see advertised had to start somewhere. keep us posted with your progress. this could be very interesting and give others inspiration to do the same.

Ha!

Did you know it's one thing designing a body kit, another thing to make it, and another (bloody awkward) thing to fit them!?

Oh, and lets not forget the word 'custom'.

Ding Ding Ding! :money icon: X5

these forums are good, because other people can tell you the truth - rather than me being so wound up in my dreams forgetting the reality that this will be hard!! all i can say is .... its possible.... just at a cost
