13"s bein small ... as not looking right in proportion.

How many bodykitted Mini's with 13" wheels did you look at, to get this idea, out of curiousity!?

Where did you get the massive jump from 13" right up to 18"? What happened to 14" wheels up to 17" wheels, why wouldn't you go for any of these?

Check out the following link for a preview of what 15" wheels are like on a standard Mini... You also might fine some useful information:

the 15's on mini trailers seem a good size, but the handling will be bad wont it?

14's will be better? is it possible to have them sticking out more so when turning it doesnt catch the inside of the wheel arch?

heres a crude drawing i did in paint.... im sorry for it being quite C**p!

see if you can make out the bigger wheels being outside of the body...?

However far you space the wheels out, they still rotate around the same point relative to the body (unless you carry out some very extensive changes to the suspension). So it doesn't help as much as you'd think and in practice fitting larger wheels to a Mini almost always requires trimming of the arches.

Also regarding speeds and wheels, the size of the rim has little to do with the rolling circumference of the wheel. It depends on the size of the tyres you use.

yeah well i do actually plan to alter the suspension... lol as in my other post about my unique plans... the minitrailers 15" wheels have given me info about the thin profile tyres etc...so the tyres will be sorted out when i choose the wheels

i think its all good trying to work these things out on paper, but i think the best will be to get all sorts of different wheels and try each out in REAL life LOL

I do a form of bodykit. PM for details. As for making a "one-off" this is something that I would do but I would want £1,000 at least. This means you get the mould back which you could then use for other kits or chop it up. Why not go for a Radcor front bumper, some Veilside sideskirts which you can blend into/over the rear arch, some Euro Front/Rear arches (blended for the bumpers) and then pick the rear bumper.

Its all about what you want and how brave, how much time you have to look around and mod what is out their to your car.

Wheels: Cant stand 13" or 14" for the ride (despite the fact I run 13"s on my Mozzie) but they designs are better!

Have fun with the filler!

they are good drawings especially at ur age! if you go for a larger wheel with a lower profile the ride quality will decrease and the ride increase! the flex in the sidewalls of the 10" tyres gave a smoother ride as they act as suspension. Try to keep the same rolling radius or as close to as possible then you final drive ratio wont change too much.

Split rims are well horney! 18's on a mini would just be too big, thoes 145s look silly in my eyes though there are some good 14's out there which will fill your fortec arches though u will need to cut the body to get them to fit still! and depending on the offset and the width the handeling will change so get looking at ajustable tie rods and camber arms. then set the suspesnion up from cratch. try to get hold of an automotive mathmatics handbook as this will help you understand!

to put anything much bigger than possibly a 15" wheel on a mini, really you need to start from scratch. make up new subframes and cut the shell alot to get any form of clearance for the wheels. remmber is a mini not a ford escort, retro is the thing now and minis are ultra retro.

It is illegal for the wheel to stick out from the wheel arch

wheels sticking out from wheel arches is a bit of a grey area.

it will not fail an MOT for it but Mr Plod does not like it

MOT is not really enforcing the law of some things though is it, its more that the car is roadworthy and safe.
