Had a kit made by Simon before he left MED. Went up to collect it and spent half a day floating about the workshop while he fettled a head for me and fitted a new crosspin diff to by gearbox. He's a really good engineer and definitely knows his apples. He tries his hardest to force the A-series gearbox to be oil tight as well! Really nice work and since he's left MED the prices of his stuff are a lot more reasonable. The only problems I had were caused by MED red-tape with ordering rather than by his work which is oustanding.
I haven't seen the new workshop but assuming he's got the right tools (I can't imagine him buying cheap tools) I'm sure he'll be turning out great stuff.

Simon is Morspeed. He fell out with MED I believe after they kept rushing him through work which resulted in engines he (and the customer) wasn't happy with. I think that's what happened, having read some stuff about MSPD on other forums but I could be wrong.

he is at the moment building me a 1293 in stage 3 spec, and also building a mate from the club a 1420 race engine. He also built Alex1380's 1380, who rates it really highly. He's a great guy, I went to see him yesterday with my inlet manifold so he can polish it and match it to the head on my new engine. His workshop seems great, well equipped, spacious and tidy. From what I can see he does a great job, and I'm sure the engine will be top notch as well. I would 100% recommend MSPD to anyone who wants a decent engine built with top customer service at the same time.

they will want to maximise work production, so being the moneymakers they are, they will have wanted corners to be cut
