Anyone know where i can get a full kit, of FRONT solid mounts?

Need to change the mounts as they are pretty tired now (24yrs old) and i am fitting a f/g flipfront.

Found this one, http://cgi.ebay.co.u...mMakeTrack=true from MiniJohn but i dont know if it contains all i need...

Cheers

No point in changing the front ones as you lose them with a flip front

turns out, the right rear mount has broke / come away and the subframe is moving, which in turn has caused the top engine steady to snap.

You need Tower mounts and Rear mounts

NOT the front tear drop shaped mounts

As AlexF and Siggy said.

The Deflex bushes are poly-urethane which is not solid. They are much harder than the rubber ones but still isolate the frame to some extent. Whether thay would be acceptable or not I don't know, but I suspect not.
There is debate about whether or not solid mounts are required when fitting a flip front and I'm sure we all know of flip fronts which have been made both ways and have all got through MOT's.
I would imagine it would be better to fit solid mounts everywhere, and at the very least to the tower bolts. I have heard that a solid rear mounting will transmit much more engine/road noise into the shell, but it can't be all that bad as Mini's were all solid mounted originally.
You might get away with solid towers and deflex rears as they are very much stronger than the standard item and less likely to shear apart as yours have.
But the set you have found above includes everything you require to solid mount a frame, you just wouldn't use the front mounts. There are some in that set they just aren't teardrop shape, they are the stepped washers at the bottom of the image which you use to effectively lock up the standard rubber mounting I think. One of the companies does make solid alloy teardrops, but as said you won't need them.

So which ones do i actually need?

I require 2 A panels and solid mounts, would like to get them all from one place. mini spares is allright, £8 postage is abit steep for smaller items.

Anyone got links? are the rears and the towers cheaper to buy then in a kit?

I have a full set of solid mounts on my Clubby and don't find any exssive noise.

Buy a set its probably cheaper than individual parts. I will buy the fronts off you.

If you are fitting a plastic front you need a set of strengthing bars for the subframe.

I need some front tear drops for my van, because i am changing the front panel to a MK3 from a MK2 the MK2 doesn't have tear drops.

Would it make much difference to opt for a alloy/solid tear drops?

sorry to hijack the thread.

Your van is on solid mounts, so you may as well stay with them

hadnt thought about that P91MER, ive replaced the front panel on my pickup with a mk3 and that has rubber mounts, rather than the solid ones it had before. Can you convert them?

Yes i guess so, minispares do a solid front tear drop mount, made out of ally... they never have the rubber ones in stock, so i think i will be opting for them!
