hi guys
i have got a new engine, its a 1.3 single point injection,
has anyone ever fitted one of these and do you know if it is simple and if the front subframe is the same?
I have the whole car so its a case of ripping outta one and putting it in mine, but the subframe maybe accident damaged so would rather not just pull it out on subframe.
cheers guys

I take it the car to receive this is not injected at present?
If so you will need to swap out the whole fuel system as well as the engine and most of the wiring harness. You will need to fit the cat exhaust as the MOT emissions test will now be done on the age of the engine not the car (if the tester notices it's not the original engine)

On the injection cars, I think the engine is mounted forward as per the ERA turbos

Yup that's true, the engine mounts screw to the subframe about 5/8" further forward. I don't think there's any extra strengtening or re-inforcing involved, but if you really don't want to use the injection subframe you will have to compare the mountings on the two different frames to make sure the mountings are in the right place and strong enough. The engine steady and gear linkage may end up being different sizes due to this but I can't say for sure, again you would need to compare them to what you already have and use what is appropriate.
by the way what spec is the car you are putting this into?

Its going into the car you see in my sig which is currently running a 1990 998.
I am aware i have to cahnge all the fuel sys and wiring loom etc, as for the cat thingy, no worries i do my own MOT were i work  so i shall have a cat removel pipe on unless it prooves to have real bad emmisions with it then i shall prob put the cat back on
