Very, very nice! Would love something like this on my mini (once I get one!). Don't tell me I'm the only one who would like to see this in action, maybe igniting some excess fuel? :)

Would someone also be kind enough to tell me what arches these are & whether 10x6 wellers would fill them ok? If not would I need spacers or something?

Many thanks!

they look like widened group 6's and if you were to widen them that much you wouldnt have a chance with 10x6 weller unless they were banded to a stupid width, them alloys are 13x8/9's by the looks of them. And VERY expensive :) ;)

Oooooh :S

Could I get away with banding some 10x6's ? I know I'm probably thinking a bit big here, but I always liked wide :)

EDIT: Sorry for going a bit off topic!

Yes rhey are widened arches, not sure which though.
He has managed to get it so wide because he made his own beam axle and added a few extra inches!

10x6 definatley wouldn't fill them! lol

The sprite has an RC40 center exit jobbie on it. Fruity noise at 3000 revs plus and i like that retro look!

real optimum size for a 998 is actually 1.5" internal but are too hard to get hold of really, even tho i have one for my project! lol most stage one kits say 1.75" which is the outer diameter, internal being 1.65" would always go for rc40 exhaust as they have been around for years and years so you know must be good! i have read that the cooper freeflow manifolds are better than lcb for 998 so anyone care to compare, my 998 has lcb manifold 1.75" all the way through with a single box rc40 and air filter is a k&n replacement not a cone, not sure which needle is in the hs4 carb but this set up was rolling roaded at 50 horses. anybody got more with just the different manifold?

Only with exhaust and manifold you wont get more than 50 bhp.
Upgrade/tune carb and cylinder head, then it can reach 60 bhp if you're lucky.
