i wouldn't put it in a mini...as the power gains wouldn't be enough to justfy it!!!
but my dad's micra has alot of sentimental value :o so i'd chuck in a super turbo motor, if i could find one :P
just realized you are probably speaking about the man who know's cars well, and swaps many many motors!!!(it seems)
ah well...lol.

a2lt16v: the reason he is doing it is for a 5 speed box and a bit more reliability and teh fact that being from Trinidad and Tobago it is hard to get mini parts and so they use their ingenuity and use sometyhing they can get hold of.

Personally i think it is great and even more so as they did it in a weekend!!!!!!

exactly miniboo!
importing stuff from th UK is jus horribly expensive.
after taxes and importation we multiply the prices in the magazine by a factor of 25 to get the actual t+t price!
so a hi-lo suspension kit carded at 99 pounds ends up costing over $2500tt.
imagine spending that for 4 aluminium ice-cream-cones and two rods!!

but anyway, japanese engines are way to cheap and disposable to not put them in.
the reliable power, quietness and exchangeability is priceless!
i've done three of these conversions since and looking fwd to doing the corolla 4E transplant by christmas.
cheers u guys, al keep the photos coming

am i correct in assuming that if you loaned me £99.00 and out of thanks I sent you a gift of a hi-lo set you wouldn't need to pay any taxes??

if so I would always be happy to send you a gift or two :xxx:

Very well done.

Has anyone poped one of those old Charade Turbo engines in yet?
