Im just in the process of replacing the spi auto with an spi cooper engine (took the auto one out today). I had a thought whilst looking at it all, and couldnt see where the cps was on the auto car? there is a sensor on the end of the bell housing that has two wires, is this it? Im going to need to find out to fit and get the manual working! thanks

Not ever having seen an auto SPi, i cannot be sure as to where it is located.

I would reasonably assume that the wires you are talking about, is infact part of the crank sensor. The wires should have a blue connector on it??

Picture may be usefull.

Yes, the Auto CPS is on the outside of the torque convertor housing, and I believe is exactly the same as that fitted to the manual, well from those I've seen they look the same...

What are you doing with the SPi auto engine ??? :o

Is that the rod on the back of the block that goes to the throttle body?

I assume this is for some kind of full throttle squirt ???

there's not much to the mechanism, as it's just a rod off the throttle spindle ( on both carb and injection ) the actual 'feel' of the kick down comes from the box.
