Maniflow LCB

Big exhaust

37 x 29mm valve gas flowed head

1.5:1 ratio roller tip rockers

11:1 compression ratio

Kent 274 scatter pattern cam

Lightened Vernier timing gear

Lightened cam followers

Fully lightened crank

Lightened con rods

Ultra light flywheel and backplate with orange diaphragm and AP racing friction plate (requires crank sensor kit from either KAD or Specialist Components)

Full engine balance

inlet manifold ported to match head and doweled to locate

Throttle body modified to 44mm

Throttle body ported to match inlet manifold

Larger injector from Rover K8 1.4SPi engine

Cooper SPi ECU

3.44:1 final drive

Recon on about 80 - 100bhp dependant on CC but expect issues at the higher end on the standard ECU with fueling and emissions no matter what you do

keep the CC to the standard over sizes and i doubt you will have a problem, the car will be extremely lively. Dont get hung up on the numbers of bhp, its the feel of the drive, not the power output that matters.

will the 11:1 not cause pinking? or will the ecu sort it out?

not too bothered about big numbers i just want a nice drive.

Would using Rimflow valves on the inlet give any real gain?

Also what route would you go down to alter CR? (different stoke length, different pistons etc?)

Rimflowif you have the money and the rest of the head is optimised, not much use on a standard head.

Skim the head to get the compression up, you could also skim the block in some instancies, IE the non cooper engine has roughly 4cc above the piston, excluding the piston dish.

Is it only worth using the rimflow valves on the inlet side?

I think i'm going to have to rob the piggy bank soon
