Yo People!

Im Ben and im currently talking driving lessons. On saturday I collect my mini 1300 (not sure on the moddel  )

I live in Chatham, Kent and Im up for Mini Meets. Although my mini is an automatic so you will have to wait for me :nugget:

Anyway, Heres a picture of the mini which was the photo Used for the advert.

There are a few mods I want to do.

Colour code arches to bodywork.
Make/buy a bracket to hold three of the spotlights (Italian job style)
Change Unionjack Door cards to plain blue/black
Get all the chrome bits (i.e. roof trim and wipers/washers)
Touring seats (Dont want buckets as they void insurance if you dont tell them)
Chrome Bullet mirrors

Oh and actually fit some ICE.

Well I hope I have a good stay  , I was told to come here by a friend of mine at www.bikechatforums.com

Cheers!

So is it always this quiet on this forum. It seems so dead :erm:
Compaired to BCF (Where you can post and it will have 10 replies within the next 10 minutes) this place seems really quiet.

Well on saturday im collecting my mini from the the guy I bought it off and will be driving it home on L plates :nugget:

But fingers crossed, I will pass my test in march and I will be driving around enjoying my mini

The first thing im going to do when I get the car is take the dashboard out and rebuild it. Moving the blowers to the foot wells and fiting speakers on the dash. Ive also got an INdash DVD headunit but its not face off so I doubt I will be putting it in the mini as they are easily broken into.

Can anybody recomend any good exhausts which give the "Grunt" of a cooper. Im not after somthing really noisy. I just want that grunt noise

Well all the red bits have got to go as they look cheap. Im thinking about taking the arches off and geting a chrome trim for around the bottom of the car ("Italian Job style") and Im changing the door cards to plain ones.

So RC40 is a cooper exhaust then? How much are they. And is it a full pipe or just a backbox?

my stainless steel RC40 cost me £110 altogether including delivery costs.

engine may need tweaking, i had mine on the rollers and tuned to give improved performance and good fuel economy.

sure you can get a back box but why not splash out and get the whole thing? I think you should just get a stage one kit for the car as it's well worth it. nice car by the way.... good call on losing the red arches they look kinda cheesy imo. the only prolem you will run into when changing over to the chrome strip instead of the arch is you'll have a hole anywhere that the arch was held on by a screw in the wings/quarters.

welcome to tmh by the way.

Yea, that the only problem with the chrome strips. Each arch is held on with 6 rivetts.
Im drilling the rivetts off and geting the arches and the pasanger door professionally sprayed as the passanger door is slightly different shade of blue.

Is there any trim I can get for the edge of the arches?

Welcome Binge,

by the way, just about anything you do to your car will void your insurance if you don't tell them. And some companies don't mind buckets at all.
