:shifty: want to fit a new back box to my mini cooper 1275 spi, bit of a stupid but simple question

if i was just replacing the backbox does it needed to be welded to the link pipe or does it bolt on etc?? unfortunalty my mini is at the garage so i cant physically look!

planning on fitting a side exit 2" playmini back box and need to know if it requires welding??

cheers

Which bit of the play mini are you describing as 2"??

There are two side exit playmini exhausts, the big bore and the small bore. The big bore has a 2 1/2" tail pipe, but the system is 2". The small bore is a 2" tail pipe but a 1 3/4" system.

Either require the apropriate cat link pipe enabling the backbox to bolt straight to the cat in a like for like way, the only thing extra you will need is an exhaust clamp.

I dont know of any aftermarket system that is designed to fit the mini requiring welding so you should be alright there

ive been told that you should be okay with clamps on the connecting joints.. but id advice some exhaust paste too.
