my spi seems to idle quite high when it is warm.
say when you let of the throttle in gear the car seems not to completely shut off. when you dip the clutch/pull up its idling around 1800rpm it may after a while drop slightly but not to a nice smooth 800ish.
only other thing i have noticed is that it seems to run quite cold. temp gets up to max 1/4 or maybe a 1/3 but never to the halfway line. the heater is pretty good though.
any advice?

common problem its somthing to do with the throttle body/ lamda sensor. the quick fix is to set your ignition to the second point ie. "primed" then pump the throttle from floor to top about 10 times. Lets the ECU know where the propper max open/ min open points are on the throttle angle ...sensor thingy.
Other than that, new throttle body - a burlen fuel systems metal jobby.

This sounds like there is either an air leak, or the throttle stop screw has been mal adjusted. The latter needs the engine to be connected to a diagnostic tool to adjust the throttle stop screw to achieve roughly 35 steps of the stepper motor at idle.
