a sub in a mini will feel twice as powerful as in a normal car, just because of the lack of panels and bits to soften the bass. i recon a single 10 or even an 8 in a mini would be fine. But all out ice installs look well cool. :) should be getting a vibe active 10 in mine soon. demo`d one at work the other day, man its more powerful than it looks, good SQ too

the reason u need the tweeters to point towards ur ears is that higher frequency waver dont super impose easily at all.

sq wise i agree the 6.5 compnents mayb Focal or JL would be very nice, depending if u want SPL or SQ

i was thinking about a few sets of compontes in the doors somthing like a set of 6.5 and some 5s then the 2 10" really i want the 2 subs for looks, one behind either seat i think will look the dogs. don't know what make to go for as i would like it all to be the same brand, maybe alpine, but i don't know how good there subs are.

alpine are alright, personally i`d probably go for a JBL or vibe, i wouldnt spend stupid amounts of money on a sub unless i was after the absolute best SQ. im having some focal 6x9`s in mine to go with my infinity kappa`s, then a vibe active 10 or a small 8" with my alpine V amp. cant really hear it in a mini anyway :)

I currently have in my red mini, a vibe active 10" sub in the boot, set of JBL 6x9s in the parchel shelf running of a alpine vpower amp 2x90, then i have some JBL 4" speakers in the front which im planning on amping with another Alpine v power amp ( got both the amps from work for £25 a peace). i know i need some better speakers up front but its doing the job and it took me awile to make the speaker pods for the 4" so i don't want to bin them.

How bout getting dual alpine 8" subs in the back, and then running their F1 components up front? They are supposed to be really really good quality, if you can afford them.

Then you can just get a 4/3/2 Alpine amp, or two of them bridged, and run it in 4 channel mode, two channels bridged over to the subs (each sub on different channel is good i think, but not sure) and the other two channels going to the components cross overs up front?

There is no real need for having 6.5 AND 5 or 4" in a mini.

6.5 or 5.25" should be more than enough, btu I think the F1 series of Alpine are a 3 way component system!

GOod luck

Sorry to say i still think 10" are the way i think im going to go, i know multipul sets of components maybe over kill but i like over kill, i want to show them novas how it is really done off the lights and in sound.

a set of 4" components in the front, with some 6.5" comps in the rear and a single 10" in the boot is what id go for. Id run an alpine head unit due to its high 4.2v preouts running 2 or 3 amps, a seperate one for the sub, probably a class AB amp for the sub and class B for the speakers.

eithe this or if u are after SPL rather than SQ then a JL 12w7 or 12w3 with shake th think to pieces
