Harry if this was the case you would get bore wash on the other cylinders due to over fueling.

I think Giles' problem is more than likely down to the fact he has modified his car quiet abit, therefore effecting the fueling.

Tell that to everyone who has failed an emissions test with an LCB on, the immediately passed once the std exhaust is back on.

Emissions wasnt miles out, i think its the 52mm throttle body which is causing the problem, we shall see next week.

Plan is to take the high lift rockers out and replace with the standard ones, and put the standard throttle body back in. Hopefully this will bring down emissions down enough.

Who fitted your rockers? Did they set the gaps properly should be 0.08 iirc.

Also taking them out, i wouldn't swap the TB back out, and see if this makes a difference first.

Quite an easy job to take the TB out though, not much fuss.

Id rather take them both out to be safe.. fingers crossed it'll be ok, im gonna have a go at the ball joint myself on saturday with the help of Haynes.

Do rockers play a big part in emissions?

We need to know exactly what it failed on emissions wise "Exhaust emissions Lambda reading after 2nd fast idle outside specified limits" is too vague, was it high or low?

Valve clearance may be an issue, IIRC its 16 thou. 0.08 whatever, bananas? well its way to tight if its mm or way to slack if its thousandth of inch

Right take off the TB, check the rockers with a feeler guage set at 0.08 thou. i wouldn't remove the rockers too much hassle, for slightly out.

Harry, all of my mini's have had LCB and aftermarket exhaust on and passed everytime on emissions.

The LCB does not make that much difference, other issues are more important here.

Dev, 8 thou is WAY to tight!!! even for standard rockers. Standard rockers and cam 12 thou, performance cam and standard rockers 14 thou, performance cam with 1.5:1 high lift rockers 16 thou

I'll be honest and say that if its just a little out high on fast idle, it could well be the cat

Bugger your right its plug gaps that are 0.08 on mine. Sorry Giles if i mislead you.

sprocket is right yours should be at 13 then as you dont have a performance cam, but try 14.

MOT Passed today!

The main problem was with the lambda sensor that i bought direct from maniflow (positioned in the LCB), which wasnt working correctly...

CO2 emissions were fine surprisingly it was just the lamda sensor that wasnt reading correctly in the test.

All sorted now with a new lambda sensor ;)

One happy CT!
