noise from the engine bay

is it just my mini, or does everyone else get alot of chugging and squeeking from the engine bay? is there any sound deadening available to quieten it?

I get it, its louder then my exhaust burble at idle. I have NO sound deading, actually at the moment i have no front, might be a factor....

Theres stuff u can buy for under bonnet, on bulkhead etc. Cant remember name tho, sorry.

lol i have the same problem apart from theres something missing with mine! its too quiet.... could b the lack of engine

Nope, just engine noise and induction roar. What do you mean chugging and squeaking?

My cam belts squeel like f**k. I think theres a dry bearing in there. Anyway, Im geting it all changed as its due a belt change any time soon.

My mini has got TUNS of sound proofing around the front and under the hood. I had to take all the sound proofing out behind my dash so my headunits would fit in!

in mine ive got this hard carpet type stuff i take it its standard but i think ile replace/take it out

well when you stand at the front of the car, there is so much squeeking and stuff....its hard to explain. it sounds like a small tractor.

dry squeaky engine mounts maybe? my friends metro has that, and the flappin things a piece of C**p anyway

i think binge ment fan belt lol he is a bit sctechy with mini engine but no so scetcy about bike engines

Don't you just wish we could add audio to threads !

Squeeking could be anything from a dry suspension joint to a worn engine steady, the mouse in the engine is getting tired.... :cheese:

Chuggin like a tractor sounds like one of the cylinders may be miss'ing ( not fallen off ), but the small bores have a tedancy to sound like that anyway..
