Rich, unfortunately all those pictures were posted before January 2004 which means they were lost along time ago. DOH!!! This head will be for the turbo although im thinking about practicing on the 998....

I want to get specs for the turbo head chamber sizes etc and have a go at it, im aware i gotta remove the beaks etc, I was hoping to get a step by step guide from sumwhere... i remember the one that rich did vaguely, maybe i should pop up and see him get him to give me some pointers

Yeah come up if you want, bring a head with you so I can show you what needs taking out. In all honesty tho, I wouldn't bother with a 998 head because they are small and hard to do in comparrison to the 1275 item.

Heres a pic of my last head that I did, altho there was still more metal that I could of taken out.

I would not bother with an air powered die-grinder for home use , they use a lot of air so unless you have a very large 3 phase compressor you will be wasting your time .for home use i would sergest an electric die-grinder , and dont bother with a dremil type tool for anything other than a light polish (unless you are porting a mini ...moto!)

A couple of hundred quid mate. I would do it cheaper, but it takes so long to do them, and there is the cost of new guides and fitting of them etc.
