There is no up rated replacement for the SPi throttle body, only modified standard ones. There is no Jenvey throttle body that will fit the MPi without an adapter, whats the point when you can get a standard size 48mm or bigger 52mm ally ones that are a direct fit from Burlen for almost the same price.

The bigger 52mm are useless unless the engine demands it and that needs a programable ECU and about 120bhp. 48mm aly bodies good for 100bhp as is the standard SPi body, theres no need for these fancy items unless you have over 100bhp but then you will have a programable ECU to make use of it :-

ah right. just wondered as alot of people talk about jenvey & indiidual throttle bodies and just wondered if anyone from the mini scene had tried anything with them. should of known if you dont have it on yours then its not worth even talking about :-

on another note ive heard you talking about old metro or maestro heads too for the spi? heard it on the grapevine from someone in my club. we met at your anniversary run a few month back. the one where we went to cat and fiddle and all that

Ah right yeh, coolio ;D

I think you must have been talking to Ed of Manchester Minis, with the red Mini Sprite, he's after robbing a head off a maestro down his local scrapper, i was after the engine block :P Me, im in the process of fitting a 16v head to mine

Yeh mate, the standard SPi throttle does fine at 100bhp, any benefits you gain by modding it to 44mm would need a programable ECU as said, this would allow you to use wild cams and take the engine further than the 100bhp
