can you get jenvey for the spi? i assume its 48mm...

The bigger 52mm are useless unless the engine demands it and that needs a programable ECU and about 120bhp. 48mm aly bodies good for 100bhp as is the standard SPi body, theres no need for these fancy items unless you have over 100bhp but then you will have a programable ECU to make use of it

on another note ive heard you talking about old metro or maestro heads too for the spi? heard it on the grapevine from someone in my club. we met at your anniversary run a few month back. the one where we went to cat and fiddle and all that

ah right. just wondered as alot of people talk about jenvey & indiidual throttle bodies and just wondered if anyone from the mini scene had tried anything with them. should of known if you dont have it on yours then its not worth even talking about

I think you must have been talking to Ed of Manchester Minis, with the red Mini Sprite, he's after robbing a head off a maestro down his local scrapper, i was after the engine block Me, im in the process of fitting a 16v head to mine
Yeh mate, the standard SPi throttle does fine at 100bhp, any benefits you gain by modding it to 44mm would need a programable ECU as said, this would allow you to use wild cams and take the engine further than the 100bhp
