Hiyas, right i have me an 1275 spi mini sprite. At the moment i have mostly been adhering to the body work (i live in Guernsey an that salty air is a killer) now i feel that i may need to give the engine probably its first ever minor service!! actually the engine is running fine, so is anyone in the if it aint broke dont fix it range of thinking?? anyways i was thinking spark plugs, oil change, HT leads an generally a bit of a clean..

OK so here is the problem .... I HAVNT GOT A CLUE WHAT TO BUY!!!
Can any spark plug go in to an spi, are some better then others, also the same with the leads???

As i said i come from Guernsey so MOT is not a legal requirement so makes it hard to actually recognise problems before they blow up so to speak!!

P.S. sorry bout the absolute simplicity of the questions i asked, i dont want to get anyuones back up i just really want a decent ride, i also read this topic bout spoon feeding so was a bit nervous bout asking this stuff

Thanks for your time everyone
Peace

Oil 'n filters is all it will need for sure.

Plugs, tappets might be a good idea depending on the mileage since they were last touched.

Resistor plugs are what you need just tell them what car you have in any half decent parts suppliers - they like looking up the numbers

Spark plugs - NGK BPR6E or BPR6ES, only difference between the two is the 'ES' one has a V groove electrode and are a little more expensive
