Try lowering the reserve to just below the highest bid.
Then you may get more bids it it is "on sale"

Cheers

Thats a bit wrong is it not...bumping up the price for genuine buyers?

Actually thats against e-bay rules, and anyone could quite happily contact the other bidders and say they've been scammed

Maybe because you have absolutly no feedback, people will look at it and may think it's a scam. Probably doesn't help that your getting people on here to bump up the price. As said above, this is against Ebays terms and conditions. Someone will probably report you.

Makes no difference really as the reserve is not met, so no one has been "scammed" as you so delightfully put it.

I never said for anyone to bump it up, I merly said "the reserve is £5000 so if anyone fancies bidding on it feel free"

meh - i'm normally dead against people getting friends to bid on their items to raise the price....

but to be honest - if it hadn't even met the reserve, does it matter? If and when it gets past the £5000 reserve mark, then there'd be something wrong with it as it would actually be up for sale!! Until it reaches that point, the bids don't really mean alot anyway!

I think the prelim bids might have been because people were trying to see if they could beat the reserve so to get a proper bid in.. But it should in the last few minutes of the auction increase very quickly as everyone tries to get the bid in.. So you shouldn't worry.

And as for the scamming malarkey.. No ones been scammed because they have to get it up to 5000 anyway..

:dontgetit:

EDIT:.. Mostly what Bean said!.. :gimme:

Yes I would never get it artificially bid up once it met reserve, that's just daft.
