Wow, isn't this getting a bit silly!

Ignoring all that has been said already:

1. I'd say its completely the wrong time of the year to sell.

2. The fact that you have no feedback won't be doing you any favours

3. Its seems that anyone on Ebay who is actually interested in buying a mini must feel that yours is currently over-priced, given that they aren't bidding on it.

Try AutoTrader or an ad in the back of the Mini Mags (although you WILL get Nigerian scammers).

Exactly, by bidding your entering a legally binding contract with the seller. If you win the auction then the item is your and you must pay the selling price. People bidding on it know nothing about you because you have no feedback, this Mini may not even exist for all they know. I would be very nevous buying a £5000 car from someone on Ebay who had no feedback and I knew nothing about them.

My last ebay account had over 200 f/b with no -fb.

Got hijacked & ebay withdrew it.

I never once asked him to bid it up, I jest said if anyone fancies a bid the reserve is £5000.

Slander is also illegal if we want to get silly.

If I find anyone has contacted any on the bidders on the austion legal action will be taken.

pmsl...slander is fine, its not illegal its actually a civil offence, and anyway its lible when its in writing.

Yup and that's always the problem with ebay.

Though saying that, I think it's less of a problem on an item like a car, as the buyer will (normally) go to see said car before bidding, then know addresses, mobile numbers etc of seller. Also, it's not like the seller's going to claim the car was 'lost in the post' or something similar!

Harry, I'd contact Ebay again. My account was hijacked earlier this year. Several electronic items being listed from Hong Kong. I managed to get my password changed, and Ebay withdrew the auctions and stopped my being charged the listing fees for them, but I didn't have to start a new account.

Just looking at your ad one thing puts me off straight away.
The bloke that has asked that question about the contract malarkey Has he actually been bidding?
or is he a scammer. If he is and is bidding it up I would not bid.
It sometimes pays to hide the questions.

I guessed it may be a scam, he's not bidding though, I have actually blocked him.

What I'm really struggling to understand is that I have had no phone calls & only 2 questions from buyers.

I feel it is not looking good.

to be honest I think the whole mini market is a bit flat at the moment. Have a look in the for sale section and you'll see what I mean. Parts don't seem to be going for as much as they used to, or selling as quickly, people don't seem to be snapping up cheap project minis either. I think it's just the time of year really.

IMO the car you're selling's a cracker, but I have to say that I've seen a similar spec one to yours (though higher mileage) on a local forecourt for sub £5k too. That's been there for aboutt a month IIRC.

Wrong time of year to sell perhaps?

I'd be tempted to say drop the reserve a little and re-advertise it, but if you feel it's worth £5k then you shouldn't have to do that. I guess it's just a patience thing. Sell it for like £4,500 - 4,750 now, or hold on for a month or three and get your £5k?
