Sorry being a bit pedantic really, they contracted him to drive their car, just like all the other teams/drivers, he was not employed by them.

good riddance to bad rubbish. all he ever did was winge and moan. if he was that good it wouldnt have mattered that he was given equal equipment.

my understanding of it was he was told to go or be sued for breach of contract given that it was proved that he had a part in the whole spying farce. his contract will have had a clause in it to say that mclaren reserve the right to terminate his contract under such conditions. otherwise he would be suing them for some sort of unfair dismissal. plus if mclaren had gone down that route it would have made him unemployable.

Now that I would love to see. Apart from the fantasy of an all brit F1 team, it would be great to see Heikki over at mclaren, him or rosberg would be awesome, both great drivers and would do very well in a mclaren, given that they dont screw their car up next season

Well looks like in 2009 Ferrari will have Kimi and Mr grump aka Alonso!

They have said maybe at the end of next season they could pay off massa's contract, opening the door for alonso. Question is, would anyone want alonso for one year before letting him go to Ferrari?
