If you check the project section there are a few people doing a similar conversion.

Welcome to the forum also.

Have you consulted with Rallysportreplicas
they will do you a full conversion kit if you want, but best of all is theri gearbox with reverse on!

torque steer won't be an issue as the R1 engine will produce big power top end and flat out. The added weight of the mini stuff is perfect for solid low end power but awesome mid range to top.

Don't get me wrong tho, the bottom end power is more than adequate

I had a talk with the people at rallysportreplicas, I think they are a while off yet and they will use a short bike chain, which I know does not work unless it's in an oil bath. We shall see, I might still interested with their kit if they can sort it out soon

I will call them see if they are any closer to having the kits available so I can actually see what it consists off, that would making a decision easier, the stuff I have bought won't go waste

Cheers
David

That's the rear wheel drive gearbox, I'm doing fwd which they say they have a modded mini gearbox on the way, driven by a short chain suitable for a R1.

I tried to call him today to see how they are getting on, no luck today I will try again tommorrow

Cheers
David

I spoke to him yesterday and the gearbox willl be released soon for £1295 not bad eh.
But to build his kit myself in my minus he recons £5500! and that's not even with the equal length drive shafts. Don't know where that money is going.
