On the hunt for an advert I know I have seen...
It is a picture of a mini on a Boat's helipad......
think it was a naval boat...... for Planes
the car was at the end of the ramp....
Something says it was for a clubman But I can't find it..
can anyone assist.......
thanks in advance.

I know the advert very well, it's an old early 1970's British Leyland Mini advert and you see the then full range (apart from the commercial vehicles) of Minis elevate through the floor of a naval boat/fighter plane carrier and then drive off one behind the other as if their about to take to the air.
It's a classic advert and the only place I've seen it is on the "Wizardry On Wheels" Mini video from "Heritage Films".
It's not available on DVD yet though, but you should be able to get it via e-Bay.
It's the video with a red Mini jumping in the air on the cover.

Oh yes and I just remembered that a short clip of that old BL advert was also shown on the Quentin Willson Top Gear spin-off show "The Cars The Star" when the Mini was featured in one particular episode.
Yes that episode was 25 minutes of pure heaven and I defy anyone to watch it and not say that they really want to buy a real Mini afterwards.
It's been repeated several times since its first broadcast in 1997.

I can't seem to find it either, just loads of old episodes of Top Gear.
So can some kind person who is able to upload the whole of "The Cars The Star" episode that was dedicated to the Mini, please do so and let us know?
But to be honest only a short snippet of that advert appeared on that show and it's the "Wizardry On Wheels" Mini video which shows it almost in it's entirety. It's just spoiled by Hugh Laurie doing the voice-over and pointing out how the new range from BL flew no better than what had come before.
I think it's high time a feature packed DVD was released showing all the classic Mini adverts. Plus a remastered DVD release of the groovy psychedelic 1969 Dunlop Tyres short film "Vive Le Sport" is just crying out to get released, because it's a bit like "Thelma And Louise" on acid.
Yes it features 2 groovy swinging gals as they terrorise Europe in their brightly coloured MKII Mini Cooper S, dance at the local psychedelic discotheques whilst being pursued by shady men. LOL
Either way it's a cracking little film and it was made to advertise Dunlop tyres, so there's lots of product placement throughout. Naturally the Mini is shod with a set of Dunlop SP Sports Radials.
