I was out in the mini last Saturday, just about to pull out of a junction, BANG! a rather large Toyota 4x4 pushed half of my boot lid in, smashed the rear lights and put some dents in my bumper. Not only that, some of the shell pushed in and needs pulling back out.
Not a mark on the 4x4.
got a quote on the damage. Called the driver to let them know the bad news and they reply was "Are you sure it's that much, thats silly for such an old car." I think she thought it was going to be £20 for a new boot lid from the local scrappy.
Anyway the back end is going to need respraying as all the paint work just above were the bumper starts is cracked.
Pants!

A small update!
I was out in the mini last Saturday, just about to pull out of a junction, BANG, a woman! in a rather large Toyota 4x4 pushed half of my boot lid in, smashed the rear lights and put some dents in my bumper. Not only that, some of the shell pushed in and needs pulling back out. She got out, looked at the boot lid and asked me if it was there before she hit me, i replyed with a big fat no.
Not a mark on her massive 4x4.
Got all her details, went home got a quote on the damage. Rang her up to tell her the bad news and she came out with "Are you sure it's that much, thats silly for such an old car." I think she thought it was going to be £20 for a new boot lid from the local scrappy.
Anyway the back end is going to need respraying as all the paint work just above were the bumper starts is cracked.
Pants!
how can she insult your mini like that

Boot still isn't sorted; it's booked in for just after Christmas now.
Here's what it looks like at the moment

Roll cage is order and should be here soon, I'm thinking of spraying it a nice metallic blue so it stands out well and brings a bit of colour to the inside.
Also ordered an OMP steering wheel, that should be here soon too.
Got my new engine a few weeks ago, 1275 GT, I can't wait to get in, I've been spending hours in my garage cleaning it up, still needs a good few hours spending on it.

The dash is now finished, apart from a rev counter that's obviously going to be mounted on the driver's side, I'm just on with looking through eBay for one at the moment.

That’s about it for now.
Can anyone advise me on front brake set up for my new engine? I've been looking at the Mini Sport package, 4 pot callipers..... Any good? Obviously I need some to suit 13's and I'm on a bit of a budget too.
Cheers
