Just bought some leather mr2 seats from a mk3. Now just have to get them to fit. I already have corbeau gtb's on mini subframe and need to find a way of swapping them over.

Nice one! Thought about these too, but couldn't find any local and in decent Nick at the time.make sure you post some pics up when they are in :-)

The best comfort is given by Rover 220 seats but you know....there is no rear access for passengers.

Considering putting in some 80's Recaro Escort RS Turbo seats in, are there any mini subframes that will directly bolt onto these seats? :) I saw earlier in this thread someone modified cobra classic frames?

My mk2  Punto Go seats are waaaay comfy, and the access to the back is much easier than the original seats.

That was me  :shifty:

There isn't any mini seat subframes that will allow the RECAROS to bolt straight onto them as these seats are wider than mini seats.

Did you see the image of how I modified the subframes? It was incredibly easy to do if you do want these seats in your mini..

Ah I see thanks! I think I saw the image earlier! :) Did the seats bolt through the floor or did they just simply fit into the tilting brackets in the car already? :)

For motorsport type peoples, a pair of the new Sparco sprints fit easy, with loads of space between the two mounted at even levels. Mounted on Sparco side mounts, onto JB fabrications bolt in side mount frames. On 3mm welded in reinforcement plate with external sandwich plate also.

I'm curious if anyone is familiar with these seats and who makes them. They're a fantastic balance of old-school styling and modern execution. I found it on one of the Japanese Mini Garage facebook pages, but couldn't find any leads.

Hi,

I see on here that some people have fitted Alpha GTV seats. How have you fitted the front seats please? I have these but the only way I can see to fit them is to modify the crossmember.

Please advise because I don't know what to do.

Thanks,

Rod

It seems like it's only rear seats from the GTV that have been fitted.

I thought it was the rear GTV seats and MX 5 fronts, you can get them both in tan leather.

I will let you know how I get on - with photos :-)

It's doing my head in at the moment though as I don't want to modify the crossmember.

The problem with them is that even someone of around 5'10" is going rubbing the roof (or pretty darn close). They also need to be moved back because even with the adjustable seat brackets that you can get, you just can't get far enough away from the steering wheel.

I'm going to go and have another play now.

MY ALPHA GTV FRONT SEATS ARE FINALLY IN!!!!!

They just have bolts through the holes holding them right now but they fit, they slide and they are very comfortable. I think they look good too.

I could have got more done this afternoon to be honest, but I stood looking at the seats for half an hour.

Now I have to take them out and try fitting the rears. People tell me the Alpha GTV seats go right in but I still need to understand how they are held in place. That's for tomorrow. Right now I am just enjoying this milestone.

Rod
