Hi all I have just looked through all this was wondering what in peoples opinion is the best way to mount a set of rover vitesse recaros into a mini? Use the cobra frames and make brackets or keep on runners and fit in that way instead?

Which are most steady? and best height?

Thanks

If you have access to a MIG or some form of welder use the existing seats frames and modify them to fit in the mini.  You can use square box section tube, 1/2" 2mm thick should be OK and mount them at the front and rear.  Try them a few times before you weld up anything solid.  Most people seem to mount them with the bottom of the runners touching or very close to the cross member.

Hi DomCr250,

I do have access to a Mig welder, and I am sourcing some cobra style frames to make a bracket to make that frame fit the recaro seat. This was the way I have seen them done before and a friend of mine has some RS Turbo seats which he has done the same to they look good and you haven't got to make any mods to the car...

As per my 'what i did in my mini' i'm halfway through recovering a set of mx5 seats to fit on custom subframes. Well pleased with the new seat skins though. Set of black leather seats on mini seat subframes (locking type) from a civic soon to be going on ebay. (Black and white are the new seats)

Does anybody know if these seats (as attached) will fit direct to these subframes huddersfield spares offer? Or would I need the rails as pictured with the seats? They do say they are for Cobra/Corbeau but not sure if that is targeted at all Corbeau seats or a limited selection!

The link for the subframes is http://www.minispare...-corbeau-seats/

Just managed to win these on eBay for a good price, Fiesta Si seats.

When I get them fitted I'll upload some pics, but in the meantime if anyone has any suggestions for how to fit them, please feel free to let me know!

I have just managed to pick up a full set of Alpha GTV seats in black leather which I hope to fit in my Mini. The base of the front seats is about 100mm longer than the standard seats and the back seats come further toward than the standard ones as well. Has anyone fitted both sets and did the have to be adapted to fit?

I just had my man john install some bomber style seats.... They look great IMO. Eddie barrert is the company that makes them.

I love the look of those seats. They look so similar to SA spec S buckets and suit your car perfectly.
