I'll soon be building up one of Chris's little turbo monsters for myself for the Monte!! I'll probably have less in the engine AND the entire car than what I would have spent on a Radical / Powertec V8 Hayabusa engine alone when I'm done, and about a third as much into the complete turbo engine and ancilliaries (with full turbo bottom end rebuild with Carillo rods, forged pistons, high volume oil pump, ported and polished heads, uprated clutch, etc etc) than even the comparatively low priced US Hartley unit with, as Chris states, very similar performance numbers (360+BHP, over 200lbft of torque). The turbo engine will weigh substantially less than the V8 to, and you can use the std Busa transmission - oh, and it will fit in a Z Cars too!

Cheers Chris for another job well done!

Aric

the turbo hyabusa we did for the rumanian hillclimb car gave near on exactly the same power and torque of the V8 at the sameplaces in the rev range it was dyno tested at powertec engineering and they were very interested in how it gave the same as their motor but obviously in a cheaper format
the V8 is ok but very expensive as not only do you need the motor you also need a good gearbox to transmit the power plus a clutch this all comes as std with a hyabusa turbo

Thats right about Radical making a busa V8, they make their own crank and crankcases for the two suzi blocks to sit on, there's a guy here in Scotland near where I work with one fitted in a spaceframed metro 6r4. It's Awesome!!! I'll try to get some pictures of it and post them up.

Turbo Hayabusa built and developed by ZCars but it was run on the Powertec dyno.
