Have you tried a new relay (cost about £5) in the ECU - I know mine didn't show as a fault and the engine wouldn't turn nothing. We tried everything before that cut off switch, new fuel pump and even contemplated getting a new ECU !!

The bit I am talking about was seperate from the ECU, its a black plastic box which whne you lift the cover off it has 4 bobbin like things in it - it was one of these that was faulty that caused al my problems - new one was about £20 but that was a few years ago now.

its a good idea to check that- its a fairly common problem.

Give Icklemini a PM, he may be able to help you if you are in an area close to him that is, failing that it is a decent auto diagnostics technician you need and these are few and far between.
Try these people http://www.atpelectronics.co.uk/ they can check your ECUs off car, thoroughly, that then leaves the wiring if they are all good. If they are faulty, you still need to double check your wiring before you reconnect the replacement ECUs, these things dont go pop for the fun of it, there needs to be a seriuous problem to cause the failure, usualy dead shorts are the best way of smoking the ECU.
