Im looking at becoming a special constable, as my contract for my current job is running out soon, and as Sussex Police are not recruiting until next year for Police Officers.
My brother is a Police Officer for Cheshire police so Im going to talk to him about it.
what area were you thinking about?

He also said that going into the specials certainly does not put you in better stead before becoming a real pinky.
Needless to say he quit after a few months.

No it doesnt, thats true, HOWEVER, its a shorter training program and then you can see if you like it. Id rather not do the whole training course for the regular officers, which takes ages, only to find out its not the job for me, if I am a special I will get experience and see whether I like it and want to apply for the Police Officers. If not I can stick at being a special. Thats the idea anywayHe also said that going into the specials certainly does not put you in better stead before becoming a real pinky.
We'll see eh, what will be will be
