to cut a long story short i sold something (not through ebay) and the person payed me through paypal then about 2 hours later my account has been put on hold.
paypal are reviewing both mine and the buyers account and now i can not use it.ive sent them 3 emails asking why has this happened.

im now going to get bad feedback on ebay because i brought a item and now i can not pay.its been 3 days now with no reply from paypal.

has anyone else had paypal hold your account so you cant use it.

i dont know what to do as they wont answer me emails
thanks.

if the other person has filed a dispute then that will instantly put your account on hold

they do have a customer service number but you have more chance in finding a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow than finding it on the website..

i do have it at work... and if you can wait until the morning i can get it for you.
yep ive had that.. ive also had them investigate me for fraud too.. as they thought passing 100 quid through the account from someone else was dodgy? :P

I'v had this before too. Basically paypal said once you have made a certain number of transactions (or maybe it was transfered a certain amount money) they check through you account to make sure the details are all correct and nothing dodgys going on. They suspended my account for a few days while they did this...

Have you actually checked your paypal account though? I know a lot of my customers get emails pruporting to be from ebay/paypal, with all sorts in them, and I personally get loads telling me my account is on hold and to follow the link in the email so I can 'log in' and resolve the issue. IF that's the case that it's just email then you may have been had. You log in to their server and not ebay's/paypal's, and it nicks your details.

The next thing you know you could have bought loads of stuff without knowing it, or your account is emptied.

Check it thouroughly, and always type in the address you want rather than following the handy links in the convincing emails.

It may not be the case though, and I've just scared the cr*p out of you for no reason! But, you can't be too careful!! :)

just seems the norm in this day and age.. as technology improves the con-men and masterminds alike have to up their game. I frequently recieve emails about how my bank account is on hold, paypal is on hold and how my ebay account has been credited, but i need to log in to fulfil this credit.

and unfortunatly people fall for these. :)
