I have just replaced my written off MINI with a 92 MINI city, good solid vehicle and i'm very happy with it,right price, right condition etc.
one problem which occasionally rears its head is that at low speeds the car will jump out of second gear, I'm thinkin its probably the selector forks.
Has anyone experienced anything similar, if so is it an expensive fix?
any input apreciated.

Before rippin the 'box appart to see if anythin is worn out, check that the engine and any other steadys you've got fitted are all tight and that the bushes are all good too. If there is any excessive engine movement it can pull it out of gear. Also check that the engine mounts are good too and the 2 rubber bobbins on the gear linkage by the gear stick are ok.
If this doesnt cure it, looks like the engine is gonna have to come out
