Just had a phone conversation with a guy from Licensing Management International Ltd, the company basically in charge of all those BMW lawsuits.

I had sent them an email basically asking about what constitutes as trademark infringement (specifically Mini orientated), the possibility of using BMW shells to re-start Mini production, and also the production of FG bodyshells.

On the subject of trademark infringement, he said that they are mainly concerned with merchandise, stuff like T-shirts, magnets, etc featuring the original Mini, Mini logos, etc.

With regards to the bodyshells, he said that its mainly BMH's area, and that I should talk to them. He did say though, that making a few dozen using BMH shells and he doubts BMW would be concerned, but to re-start Mini production, making a few hundred thousand, you'd be in competition with BMW and you'd most certainly hear from them!

As for FG shells, again, I should talk to a contact at BMH, but generally the odd few and they won't be too concerned.

I'll contact BMH and see what they say.
