I read through all this in disbelief last night. I didn't personally know Oli and I wasn't closely following his project but when I saw the photo of him in this thread, and especially his avatar I realised that I do remember talking to him through the forums a fair bit. He was definitely on my list of forum members I'd like to meet at a show or event. I read some of his project last night and he comes accross as the most genuinely friendly, hard working and enthusiastic guy anyone could hope to meet. My condolences to his family and friends.

Hi guys, Sorry I havnt posted in a few days, I have been really busy.
Olis funeral is going to be held at 11:30 on the 21st of december, at the village church in Wilton, near salisbury.
All those who wish to show their respect for Oli are invited.
As far as donations are concerned, I have spoken to both of Olis parents, and we are all in agreement that the mini MUST be finished.
Tomorow I am setting up a bank account specially for the project, and all those willing to give a donation can either send a cheque payable to the new account (details to follow), or funding direct to my paypal account, which I will ensure gets transfered into the mini account.
We have a few of Olis old car things to sell, which should raise around £1000 to start us off, although we are going to need a lot more than that to finish the car to the standard we need.
Thanks again for all the amazing support you guys have given, I have shown these threads to Carol, Olis mum, and she is thrilled to see just how much support is out there for Oli.
Thanks guys, I will be updating the thread again tomorow.
Drive safely.
Nick

Could we also donate our time and any parts you may need? I assume Morspeed are going to be contacted to get his engine home asap!?

I really don't know what to say my thoughts are with his family.
Let us know when the account is set up, it will be a pleasure to contribute towards getting his project finished

As above. If there's anything we can do to help complete his project, please let us know. It would serve as a memorial and a tribute to a fellow mini-nut and we'll no doubt all be willing to chip-in where we can, to see his dream become a reality.
Thoughts go out to Carol and the rest of his family and friends.

Count me in for a donation to the funds.
I will be glad to help in any way I can. I can't think of a better way to tribute to a Mini fan, I'm just sorry that he isn't here to drive it.
Let's do him proud, and make this car what is should be.

Guys, I thank you all for your contintued support, it really does mean so much at this terrible time. Links to all the forums hosting threads about Oli have been passed onto the rest of Olis family and friends, and I can promise you they are very comforting.
Today I have been to the bank, and setup an account in my name, specially for the completion of Olis mini.
I could have setup a club/society account, but it was rather complex, and would have taken some weeeks to officialise. So what I have done, is opened a second bank account in my own name, which will be totally seperate from my own funds.
Later tonight (after I've eaten something) I will post the details of the account, so all those wishing to make a donation via internet banking will be able to do so directly into the mini fund.
For those using paypal, I will wait until all paypal donations are recieved, then transfer the total amount into the mini fund as soon as I am able to link the mini fund to my paypal account.
I have spoken to Morspeed, Olis engine builder, and all the details of his amazing engine have been confirmed, and it will be shipped to the Tupmans next week, exactly as Oli had planned.
I will start a seperate 'Lets finish Olis Mini' thread later tonight with all the details.
I have today been to a local florist, and arranged for a special TMF floral tribute (many thanks to an anonymous donation), in the shape of a mini steering wheel, with a picture of Oli in the centre, using the colour scheme of his mini. I think it is a very fitting tribute from TMF, a place held so dear to Olis heart.
Once again, thanks for everything guys, you truly are a wonderful group of people I can say I am involved with.
(i appologise for this post being repeated on several forums, its just easier that way, you are all so so helpful, thank you)

Nick,
I work in Wilton and live close by so would like to help in any way that I can to achieve Oli's goal and complete his Mini.
P.M me if I can come and lend a hand. I might not know everything but I can hold my own and am willing to learn if needed.
What has happened has fuelled my desire to complete my own project and I would love to be a part of Oli's.

Seeing everyone chipping in and wanting to help and caring so much here restores your faith in humanity
I hope Oli's family and friends are coping at such a sad time and I hope the funeral goes... as well as a funeral can.
I can safely say I would be absolutely no help in the actual restoration but would be more than happy to give a small donation (limited by house move atm) to help out. Also look forward to seeing progress on the Mini when the work restarts and seeing it at some shows in the summer if it's finished.
Good luck on Friday, I've only ever been to one funeral it was 5 months ago and was undoubtedly the most upsetting event I have experienced, so look after each other, and I hope it's bearable for you all.

Really sad this. Found out today my brother had navigated him on some rallies a while back when Oli was based in Southampton, witnessed him breaking what he believes was his Dads Mini and auto testing his ghetto Golf.

I'm truly shocked and saddened to read this thread. I feel terrible that I have only just read it tonight.
Oli seemed like he was an enthusiastic mini lover and someone who genuinely was a credit to this forum (and I'm sure other forums that he used). I hope the funeral went well for all of his friends and family. I never met Oli, but I talked to him on this forum and was following his project thread. He really did seem like a nice kid. My thoughts are with all those that loved him.
I think that it's a great idea to get his project mini finished off and will be happy to donate some money/parts to the cause.
