I Haven't read the whole thread so don't know all the issues. But was Oli's tribute mini in one of the mini mags a few months ago?

I just read the whole thread and morspeed should consider themselves lucky that they didn't have to pay more for they must have made Oli's Family and Prawn feel like.

It is inspiring what you have taken on prawn, it is just a shame it has taken almost 5 years to get an engine sorted out.

Hi guys, I'm still about, just not been on here in a very long time! Daryl just linked me to the thread on facebook, so I thought I'd pop over and say hello.

Things arn't great to be honest, and I don't have and wonderful news. as I said in my last post, we recieved a payment of a whopping £1 from Simon, claiming it was a test payment, and nothing at all since.

Carol has spent a fortune on court fees, balifs fees, all sorts trying to get the money from him, Balifs have been round loads of times, and each time they go Carol has to pay for it, yet somehow he manages to worm his way out of it, it seems that he doesn't 'own' anything any more, apparently.

Sorry I've not been on here much, it's something which makes us all fairly sad to be honest, Carol and I met up with a few friends back in January to celebrate Olis Birthday, and we're all still 100% that this will get done. We just need to work out how to go forward from here really.

The money for the engine isn't ever going to happen, so I think the best plan might be to drop a more 'normal' lump in the car to get it going. I'll have a chat with Carol about it and then speak to Mintec and see how we can move foward. we had previously dismissed the idea, as it wouldn't be 'Olis' car as such, but I think given how the situation hasn't improved at all, it might be the only way to get things moving forward again.

as I said before, metal work has been done on the shell, it's prepped for paint, all the parts have been bought to finish it, and it's all stored in a safe place, awaiting final paint, assembly, and an engine.

The project, and everyones hugely appreciated efforts, havn't ben forgotten about in the slightest folks, it's just such a shame we got thoroughly done over by a once well reputed company, who turned out to be thieves.

Thank god for genuine good people like mintec who are prepared to take on work like this, finishing the car will be costing them far more than we have, but they understand where we're wanting to go with this, so they've been doing it all in their spare time and at weekends to keep the costs down.

Will see if I can get a photo update at some point in the near future! I'll try and pop into mintec when I'm next heading south to see my family.

Makes me sad coming back and reading all this take care on the roads folks.

I'm so glad that you updated us, I've been reading this fourm for a while now, would be nice to see the car on the road one way or another. I'm sure ollie would understand everyone's effort. All be it it's not his car and it's not they way he planned but as I said I'm sure he would be overjoyed with everyone's effort. Just a shame there is some heartless criminals out there.

So what will happen to the car once it is finished as this is somthing big to be thought about considering the amount of donations the car cant be sold.

Is it not time to stop chasing simple simon and try and get the car finished? I did not know Ollie and never spoke or heard of him until this happened but am willing to donate my time and any parts i dont need to help move this forward if you want.

The car is Ollie's Mum's to do with as she pleases, as it should be in my opinion. Though I do think it'd be nice if the forum could help to see it completed. Maybe by taking it along to some shows , once it's painted, and recruiting some willing and able volunteers to build it up on our stand?
