***VTEC conversion starts on page 6***

Well I think its about time I started a project thread else the baby will be finished and ill never get around to it.

Introducing a 1979 '1275 GT'. Haven't decided on a name or her yet (think it's gonna be a her though) so any suggestions would be very helpful. Did consider Mistique, you know that blue woman from the X-men films but have decided against it now.
Any way enough talking here are some pics of the car

Right on to the nitty gritty. A lot of panels have been replaced including both offside and nearside front wings, front panel, offside and nearside front floor pan, rear heal board, rear valance and outer sills.
The colour is Audi Mauritis Blue Pearl and the roof is BMW black metallic (yes I know the enemy )
2 new subframes painted red
Spax adjustable suspension and Hi-Low's
7x13 inch Starmag alloys with 175x50x13 Yokohoma A430 Tyres, centre caps, chrome nuts and locking wheel nuts
Group 5 arches
New steering rack, quick rack with 2.2 turns lock to lock
Quickshift gear
New wiring loom
Carbon fibre dash 3 with 3 extra Tim gauges voltmeter, clock and oil pressure
Quick release bonnet catches and quick release grill
All new window and door seals
New starter motor friend had a new one lying about in his garage so I got it for free!! Yay :D
Braided hoses all round where applicable

Still to do. The fuel lines needs to be fitted so that I can get the tank back in. Brake lines still need to be fitted and im in the process of refurbing the calipers. There is no interior at all so it a question of start from scratch on that front
Will keep you updated as I go along

Stu

I know its not the traditional mini paint code and i actually saw an audi A3 in the same colour the other day but I but like the way it looks imo kinda old school mini with a new jacket on!!! :(

Thx Bean but tbf you already have an absolutly stunning mini!!! You should definatly think about the clubby route though you know deep down its the way to go :( ;D

Havnt joined a club yet didnt want to turn up without a mini if you know what i mean. Going to get it on the road first and then see what clubs there are local!! :)

I think i read that there is another Malvern shw early next year might just about have it on the road my then if im lucky? :P

that is absolutely stunning, the starmags really suit it. but i reckon you should go for the new cobra clubman seats rather than the classics.
