the drive shafts we are using on the new kits are a mondeo item the way they are made in the factory leaves "high spots" in the surface of the ball races which on a road car would get "run in " over a few hundred miles what i did the other day was speed up this process by using grinding paste to smooth out the tightness seems to have worked but im going to keep an eye on it at oulton parkDoes Chris's post on the croft race report not shed any more light on this issue? Machining down the diameter of the shaft puts less heat onto the boot so its not so 'tight' when its running hot causing it to split?
or am i dreaming
