How Do I Get Reverse Off A 600 Cc Motor Bike Engine?

im just about to convert my mini in to one with a 600 cc bike engine to she how it goes on speed and torque!

but i have got everything planned with getting drive front the engine to the rear wheels but im styuck on the reverse part!

so if any one has made one before can you tell me what to do?

ive been told to use a starter motor to reverse the drive but that is no way goin to have enuff power!

z cars use a starter motor to power their reverse maybe something off a big diesel?

if u use a starter motor, wont the starter motor would be on or off?????

yes but they are geared down lots so you dont move very fast

what you class as a big diesel? a landrover TD4?

you'll need a 'Quaife reversing box' ! http://www.quaife.co...e-reversing-box - thats the link for the website - im not the authority on these by any means but a friend of mine put one in a motorbike engined kit car an it worked for him!

is that the box that just reverses everything ?

so you get 5 (or what ever a bike has) reverse gears, meaning you can go backwards as fast as you can forwards

yeh it goes between gearbox an diff so jus reverses the lot! >_<

Was that really wise? Sounds to me like he's trying to make himself a front engined RWD mini? Nothing like a Z-car really >_<
