Having problems with me flipfront.

I just drilled holes in subframe and put bonnet pins through, went to line it up and i can only get one side into hole. other side is off by like 0.5cm.

Anyway when its like this, it seems to be tilted, nose facing floor.

So i lined it up how its ment to loook ish, see pic. And it bottom lip of front sits on the bonnet pins. So do i need to make somet so the bonnet pins meet up at this height.

Also, the front seems to be really stuck out at A panels (see pic but its dark)

Any ideas???

This is how i think it should look (currently sat on pins). When its bolted to pins, its face down sorta thing.

I would say you get what you pay for with these things.. so hopefully you didnt get the ones that are 120-150 as from previous experience they arent worth it.

Friend also got one and the whole bonnet area vibrated! Personally I'd save up for a carbon fibre front end.

Hope you sort it out

Slightly off track Jordie, but didn't you want some locking pins for this? Merlin have just started to sell some very cool key locking aerodynamic pin things, which are completely flush to the body so plod won't be upset either. Not the type you are probably thinking about with the cylinder key but a different set altogether, more like traditional pins. I'll go off and try to find a link.

With a fiber class FE there will always be some fiddling around, sometimes can be compensated for by the position of the panels, but now as yours are fixed inplace you will need to adjust the F/e to fit.

Dan, would be interested in that link too.... as the weathers starting to be a bit more clement, Petal may see a bit of action !

Merlin

There you go, follow the links to the catches page.

These are very cool catches and look like aircraft panel latches.

Got standard bonnet pins. Looks like the areas near a panel will pull in, but its gunna be an arse.

Any ideas how to make the front mounting higher? Looks like i might have to weld some metal to front subframe and drill holes in there.

I bought this 2nd hand in good faith from Guessworks mate. Was cheap.

If this doesnt go on well, its off on ebay and a metal flip front fitted (gunna be an arse and expensive now, sold my bonnet etc)
