I've got an '87 Mayfair 998cc currently with a single HS4 carb. I'm wantig to fit my new set of twin 1.25's. I'm also fitting an LCB manifold and exhaust system at the same time. The only thing I don't know now though, is the correct needle to use. Is it the AAA, AAU etc? There to many to choose from.
Please help. :cheese:

correct, there are loads to choose from, but first, you need to identify what sort of needle the 1.1/4's need, Fixed or biased. I think HS2's are fixed.
Looking at my SU application list the 998 cooper with twin HS2's ran as standard with a GY needle and a Blue Spring, and a GG needle for slightly richer applications. Both of these needles are fixed.

It's a rebuilt set but I don't know the set of the original engine. I'm buying 1 of those twin SU Repair kits and doing the rebuild myself. Not sure what/or if there are any needles in the set.
