haha it helps. What are the next planned mods?

well, right now my flywheel is out to get balanced, but while i wait i can put the diff back, then i have to clean and possibly rebuild the hif44 carb. getting closer to putting the S engine in it every day. i hope its ready for MME!

apart from that, i'm aiming mostly for early 70s period mods, nothing over the top. also i'm still thinking about making a copy of the innocenti 6 gauge dash, maybe covered in leather... dunno yet. i've started saving money to restore the body next winter.

hehe, yeah, nobody will ever see it, but i figured why not...

anybody knows if there was an unused wire in the rear loom in 72 estates like they had in some of the saloons?? i have to install a electric fuel pump, and i'd rather use an existing wire...

electric gaz pump is plugged and plumbed in, no leaks. oil pump is primed and tested for pressure, no leaks either. just need to find TDC, adjust the 123 dist, and i'll be ready to start the mofo up!!!

well, in 300miles or so i'll change the oil, adjust the valves and this topic is finished!

i've succeeded in building a very strong and hopefully reliable engine that will be a great daily driver and occasional track day car, without ANY prior experience in engine building. not even tinkered with dad's lawn mower. i did my homeworks, asked the right questions and today my engine runs extremely well. i brought it to my local mini club's mechanic guru and he just adjusted the timing a bit as i had too much maximum advance but everything else was fine, even the carb's needle. i'm very very happy!!!

the only thing changed since the previous picture is the Filter King regulator/filter. i think the filter was too old, it just prevented gas from flowing. i swapped it for the usual plastic filter.

look for my orange clubby at Mini Meets East in Bethel, Maine next week!

progress on the engine, the gearbox is rebuilt and back on. currently on hold until i can find the stupid sleeve that goes in with the spring and ball bearing next to the shift pin. cant put the diff back on until i find it... i've torn appart the engine more than 2 years ago, now i'm looking for parts at every step... should have used plastic bags and labels!

installed the 7.5' brakes along with adjustable tie-rods and lower arms over the week-end. first side went on well, the other side i spent about 2 hours hitting the damn ball joint with a hammer.

its borderline but i think i'll be okay without arches.

Hi there this may be a stupid question but I was wondering did you take drum brakes off and fit those 7.5" discs. If you did it looks like you didnt replace the drive shaft?? Am I correct? If you did do a conversion then what did you replace. I am desperat to do a conversion and really want to know all the details??
Thanks bud
cheers

i am! i got into an accident but luckily the engine wasnt hit. that's a good thing for the other driver's teeth.
the car is actually coming back from the body shop today with only the front wing replaced and primered. i will then proceed to strip it to a bare shell to get it completely rust free with a new inside-out coat of paint :D still not 100% sure of the color but it will definitely keep the wood. i might get all the chrome nickel plated and paint the car a dark metalic root-beer color....

or, like a friend at work suggested:

Al, i know marcel but i've never actually met him. he provided insightfull help when i built my garage's heated slab system.

Shough you need the hubs, the cv joints, discs and calipers. the drive shafts are the same and you can get away with keeping the hoses - all though you might as well change them while you're there...
