How much play is it SAFE to have in a wheel (front), up/down and front/back.

My left one is solid as a rock but the right one has maybe 1mm play at the edge of the 12" rim up/down, and maybe 2mm when holding from 3 and 9 oclock positions.

I know this is not good, but is this amount of play safe enough to drive it for a few months?

up/down movement is usually a Balljoint, side to side 'rocking' is usually bearings..

ball joints are peasy to replace, just a bit time consuming!
