Hi
I have a 1993 spi cooper, having problems with the idle speed, it fluctuates from 650rpm and 1250 rpm at idle. if i rev the engine i also get a considerable amount of splutter and maybe a backfire. I have given it a full service ie. plugs, filters etc. Just wondering you guys can give me some guidance before i take it for diagnostic
Cheers
Splutter, Splutter, Back Fire!

If its a two plug ECU i would be looking at the throttle pedal switch as being the culpret
It could also be a liquid lock in the MAP sensor

Don't know much about injection Minis but I would say there is a pipe off the intake somewhere and it is drawing air in. Check you have put everything back where it should be
