Okay, I found a way to keep a mini and still sell off my main one!

I'll turn my clubbie (the really rusty one) into a basher-roadster...

It'll teach me how to cut stuff, and it might be fun till it falls apart. I dont have to buy anything, so why not!

So, if you would like me to have a mini, help :)

1) I might keep the doors (but cutting off the top and rear frame off), but I might not. Any comments on this?

If I don't keep the doors, I'll have two steel bars (tubes), maybe 2-2.5" diameter welded across the door openings.

2) Any reasons not to chop the windshield frame?

3) Finally, what bracing will I need? I want to do this on a VERY VERY low budget, and looks hardly matter to me, so if it takes a long steel tube running down the middle of hte interior, that's fine! I just want the car to be driveable!

Any ideas on this, lemme know!

Thanks

Pavel

There was a car that had this done in a mag a month or so ago, i will see if i can dig it up,

what he did was made a sorta roadster cutting the roof off and using that to cover teh rear half of the car! for the doors he cut off, from the window up and welded the doors shut, then cut out 2 sections so you could get in and out, i spose if you didnt cut out the sections u could just jump in and out the car! as for bracing i think all u would need is some in the covered compartment etc

Okay I'll talk to my mechanic guy tomorrow about a ballpark figure how much it would cost to do the bracing, and if its around 25-30 pounds, which it should be since he's a friend :), then I'll probly chop it up! :)

If you could gimme that article that would be great!
