Easy we hear you cry -
The car has been to local mini garage no faults found
Changed Plugs? Done no difference
Coil Pack? Done no difference
Crank senor? Done no difference
Temperature sensor? Done no difference
Cam sensor? Done no difference
Lamba Sensor? Done no difference
Inspected Cat? Done no difference
Extra earth wire from body to engine? Done no difference
ECU Checked? Done no Faults!
Compression Test? All ok
Swapped fuel injectors? Done no difference!
Any sensor we can think of has been replaced with genuine mini part!
If anyone has any suggestions it would be very helpful! Have so far spent a fortune and no further on!
Thanks

Note: the lines themselves may be okay, but the little elbows fail too.

Hi I have a 2001 mini cooper 1300 with a miss fire? Miss fire is intermittent and not always there, but when missfire happens feels like car is going to stall although it dosent! It sometimes back fires through the inlet manifold any suggestions?

What about your vacuum lines? Have these been checked for leaks?
Note: the lines themselves may be okay, but the little elbows fail too.
Hi thanks for the quick response - but these have been checked and all ok????

Changed Plugs? Done no difference
What plugs you using? A friends had the similar type and it was down to the type of plugs that were used.

None resistor type will overheat the coil (i think that the right away around) causing misfire problems.
If you get the code off the plugs ill check.
Hi Thanks for that will check although dont think it fits - missfire will happen completly randomly - ie from cold or warm - can be driving and the car will start to missfire complete journey and leave for 15 minutes and then completly fine - or fine from cold when warm starts to missfire or from cold will missfire - only real difference is the fault seems to becoming more permanent? and fault still present with old and new plugs!
Vehicle has only 14,000 miles on clock?????!!!!!!!!
Thanks will check the type though

When you say miss fire, does it hesitate badly under acceleration?
It would be an idea to go for a drive with a passenger, while the diagnostic is connected, that way you can see wath the ECU is doing when it does it. Then you can narrow down the issue

A new set of HT leads, new plugs and finally swapped over to a K&N filter and everything is good.
