Can anybody give me any info about where the vacum pipe from the brake servo connects? Does it connect to the air filter or carberetor or some where else ?

Thanks

The servo has been fitted to a 1981 mini, I presume i need to drill and tap to fit a tail piece to the inlet manifold?

Thanks

theres usually a casting blank or a hole already if its an after market manifold! you could drill and tap a hole but its probably easlier just changing the manifold

You need to get the blank on the manifold faced flat, drilled out to 14.5mm and tapped to something like 5/8 unf (I can't remember exactly what the thread is but I have the tap in my garage so I'll check later on). Then the servo pipe fits with two sump nut washers and an oil feed banjo bolt. It sounds like a mixed bag of sizes and parts but that really is the genuine fitting.
It's a bit of a pig to do really and it probably is easier to fit an '89 on manifold.

Thanks for the replys people, Ive already indentified the blank. Ive got spare manifold 1983 so will try drilling and tapping tomorrow.
