The story is true, however the petition is spam...

If it were a serious petition it would be on one of the many online petition sites and not sent around the world via email. Seriously, what is the chance of the original sender getting it back and doing something with it. Also there is zero creditably with a petition like this, there is nothing to stop someone adding 100's of names straight out the phone book on the end. If you really want to have your voice heard, there are better more credible ways to do it.

While I completely understand why you would want to pass this around, as Jammy said "Please, for the love of god don't send this to anyone, lets stop these rubbish chain mails!!!"

I didn't see the email address included, so yes it would go back to the sender. But please take a moment to Google the email address "[email protected]". The sites it brings back all explain that this email might have been able to do something long ago, but it is now far too late to effect anything. So in all honesty, all it does it take up bandwidth.

They got let out a few years ago didn't they? And they are by no means "free". But we won't dwell on that. Obviously killing 3 year olds is not acceptable, but I do believe they have been heavily monitored ever since and will be for the rest of their lives.

You must remember that when they did this terrible thing, they were children themselves. Children of eleven who had little concept of self or of empathy. Children make mistakes which is why they are treated by the law differently from the way adults are treated. Yes this was a terrible thing and it had terrible consequences but it was still the action of a child. They have been punished and will continue to punish themselves for the rest of their lives. If they had shown no remorse they would not have been released, I think I'm right in saying these boys were sent to jail before the tariff system existed and certainly before it would have been applied to murder.

They have been given a 'new life' as it was put merely to protect their own as if they were released and allowed to roam free of their own will, someone else would kill them purely as in some peoples eyes they deserve it. The case is well known, it was even taught at my school on psychological profiles of killers so like Dan said, we covered areas about it mainly that of the age of them involved and that they lacked the maturity to realise what they were actually doing, some blamed the media at the time, but at the end of the day they will both be regretting their actions, if not for the actual crime itself, then for the fact that they have spent a large proportion of their life in prison. If you recall, The Sun was running a reward if someone found the location of Iorworth Hoare, the convicted rapist who won the lottery, and they found him even though he was in witness protection (a waste of taxpayers money) and since then he has received numerous death threats and had bullets posted through his letterbox and so on, this kind of behaviour would be repeated if they were let loose or if photographs were seen of them which is why they need to be hidden better, but someone will inevitably find them and i wouldnt be surprised if they are murdered themselves, but the system is there to stop crime, not to allow exceptions for differing circumstances
