Thats brilliant mate, cheers. The allspeed rose joints are huge compared with the other ones.... I'm in two minds what to do whether to just splash out and get the allspeed ones as it would just be a straight fit, or mess about making spacers etc.

:P

Got the front completely off...

More bloody rust.... going to rub it down with a flap disc and then plate over the area with some thicker steel, as i'm probably going to be using coilovers on the front.

Tackled the a panel next.. took me ages it was seam welded to the door post :P

The door post and inner wing seem to be quite solid so thats good.

I then cut off the scuttle corner.. MORE RUST!! :o

Took off the underseal on the inner wing with a heat gun.. didn't take that long.

After all this i've found a few more bits that will need patching, mainly the top of the inner wing where it joins the inner dash rail underneath the scuttle.

I've ordered quite a few panels today so hopefully if they come quick i should be able to blast on at it the rest of the week!

Any more pics on this Hoggy? Picking my engine up on Friday then its down to Allspeed next week to splash some cash.

Not sure whether to stick with injection or go ITB, Webers, or what.

Anyone used the Jenvey ITB? They look good and a bit cheaper than SBD or am I missing something?

Ah, just had a closer look and I am missing something. Jenveys are SBDs. I also missed the price. CRIKEY!! Kind of makes my mind up for now...

Sorry to hijack your thread Hoggy, but thought I should mention to NudgerSS that I had a bad experience with the loosely name SBD "kit". Not so much of a kit but more a "kit but you will also need this and this to fit it, then start putting it on and it doesn't fit so you ring and "oh yeh, you need this as well!" Over all a costly experience, I would get the components yourself from jenvy, emerald, etc.

Looking good by the way Hoggy...at this rate yours will be finished before mine, it only taken me neerly 7 years already!!

Sorry i've not posted in a while! The shell is not totally stripped and i keep finding more rust! So i've been really *Drunk or yellow human water* off with it lately and ultimately i'm looking for a better shell/mini to buy.

Its going to need new floors inner sills/outer sills, subframe mounts, inner wing, a panels, patches in the boot.. the list goes on.

I could repair it but i'm wanting this mini to be spot on so i would never be happy with it being patched so much, a shell in better condition to start with i think is the best idea.
As i'm planning putting 110+bhp engine in it i want it to be as solid as possible!

Will post some pics up tonight!

Hi there looks like a great project.I am going to put a c16se 1.6 in with allspeed subby and was just wondering which is the best box to use with it running 10" wheels.I believe it's a toss up between an Astra f13w and a corsa tdi f15.Has anyone one here to your knowledge got any experience of driving a 1.6 vini with either of these boxes with some kind of feedback on which is the best to use?
