Billet is a fresh machined cam from a billet of steel, usualy expensive. cross drilled is where the cam has been drilled in such a way to supply oil from the main oil system to the cam lobes. Id say that this was a very good thing, however if its only available on billet cams, then the expense is the down fall. 274i is the cam for the MPi, the MPi cam is different, it doesnt have a distributor drive gear and what used to be the fuel pump drive lobe is now a trigger for the ECU, if you have SPi then the normal 274 will do, then there is the 274Sp which is a scatter pattern cam, again more expensive but you are really paying for a cam twice as it is really two cam profiles in on, they have to set the machine up twice to grind them, thats why they are more expensive.

I will always use a Kent cam over a Piper cam, but thats my prefference. The Kent 274SP is better, but I would expect that piper version is along the same lines as the Kent 274, i havent realy looked into it, all I can do is recommend the Kent cam as that is the experience ive had.

Hope that helps
